Response-Time Bounds of Rule-Based Programs Under Rule Priority Structure
نویسندگان
چکیده
A key index of the performance of a rule-based program used in real-time monitoring and control is its response time, deened by the maximum number of rule rings before a xed point of the program is reached from a start state. Previous work in computing the response-time bounds for rule-based programs assumes that if two rules are enabled, then either one of them may be scheduled for ring. This assumption may be too conservative in the case programmers choose to impose a priority structure on the set of rules. In this paper, we discuss how to get tighter bounds by taking rule-priority information into account. We show that the rule-suppression relation we previously introduced can be extended to incorporate rule-priority information. A bound-derivation algorithm for programs whose potential-trigger relations satisfy an acyclicity condition is presented, followed by its correctness proof and an analysis example.

Deriving Response-Time Bounds for Equational Rule-Based Programs
The response time of a rule-based program is deened as the maximum number of rule rings before a xed point of the program is reached from a start state. In this paper, we present several principles which make use of two relations, potential-trigger and suppression, for deriving tight response-time bounds. While the computation of these two relations is costly in general, we show how they can be...
متن کاملAnalysis of Applying Event-triggered Strategy on the Model Predictive Control
In this paper, the event-triggered strategy in the case of finite-horizon model predictive control (MPC) is studied and its advantages over the input to state stability (ISS) Lyapunov based triggering rule is discussed. In the MPC triggering rule, all the state trajectories in the receding horizon are considered to obtain the triggering rule. Clearly, the finite horizon MPC is sub-optimal with ...
متن کاملResponse-Time Bounds for Concurrent GPU Scheduling
Graphics processing units (GPUs) have been receiving increasing attention in the real-time systems community as a potential solution for hosting workloads like those found in autonomous-driving use cases that require significant computational capacity. Allowing multiple programs to access a GPU concurrently can enable the GPU to be more efficiently utilized, if each individual program is incapa...
متن کاملReliability Measures Measurement under Rule-Based Fuzzy Logic Technique
In reliability theory, the reliability measures contend the very important and depreciative role for any system analysis. Measurement of reliability measures is not easy due to ambiguity and vagueness which exist within reliability parameters. It is also very difficult to incorporate a large amount of uncertainty in well-established methodologies and techniques. However, fuzzy logic provides an...
